Nirmala Sitharaman announced Union Budget 2023 for the educational sector setting Rs 1.13 lakh crore, a steep rise from 8.2% in 2022. However, the 2022 budget allocated Rs 1,04,277.72 crore.

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan  said “By giving a boost to education, skill development, entrepreneurship, research and development, digital infrastructure, green growth and job creation, the Budget draws a meticulous blueprint for India at 100 and lays a solid foundation for transforming India into a technology-driven knowledge-based economy”.

To support the digitization of learning, schools invest in School Management Software to facilitate improved teaching, learning and development. As a result, students can easily access recorded classes, online class, reading materials, and other learning sources.

Nirmala Sitharaman added to her speech that in order to implement the need of accessing quality books on geographies, languages, genres, and levels, a national digital library will be set up for children and adults. Moreover, the library proceedings will be in progress from June-July, this year.

She also added that books and other study materials will be provided from National Book Trust, the Children’s Book Trust in various languages to build habitual reading.
